How to Make a Booking

Awesome Minds provides psychological services to children and adolescents. We have an experience team of psychologists practicing at our consulting rooms. All practitioners have extensive experience working collaboratively with children, adolescents and their families across several settings including childcare centers, kindergartens, schools and private practice and in the home environment.

Please note all consultations are confidential and ethical standards are applied in accordance to Guidelines from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

DO I NEED A GP REFERRAL TO MAKE A BOOKING?

YES. Make an appointment with your GP to request a referral to a psychologist under the Better Access To Mental Health Care initiative. When making the appointment with your GP, let them know it it is for a referral to a psychologist, as this requires longer appointment time.

CAN I CLAIM A MEDICARE REBATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Medicare benefits can be provided for 10 sessions per calendar year. Your GP referral is for the initial six sessions. After the sixth session, you will need to go to your GP to obtain a GP Mental Health Review Plan for the further four sessions.

CAN MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER MY APPOINTMENT FEES?

Private Health Insurance may be another option for payment, however you should check with your Health Insurance provider to determine if you are covered and the amount of cover you will receive.

WHAT APPOINTMENTS TIMES ARE AVAILABLE?

We’re open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-12pm. Please contact us to make a booking.

HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION GO FOR?

Session times are dependent on the type of appointment and will be advised at time of booking.

DO YOU OFFER TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS?

YES. Telehealth appointments are available and login details will be sent to you after your booking is confirmed.

HOW DO I MAKE PAYMENT FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

An invoice will be sent to you after your session and payment is made by direct Bank Transfer. Once sessions are paid, a receipt will be sent to you wherein you are able to obtain the Medicare Rebate (via the Medicare App or at a Medicare Service Centre).
